Probiotic yogurt starter cultures for homemade Bulgarian yogurt contain the unique Bulgarian bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus in a symbiotic combination with Streptococcus thermophilus – natural sources and lactic-acid microorganism strains type. Lactobacillus bulgaricus is known as an excellent health and longevity source coming from the Bulgarian nature used alongside Streprococcus Thermophilus for the production of Bulgarian yogurt.

The beneficial effects of the strains, included in the probiotic yogurt starter cultures are studied and confirmed of many scientists and popular medical science institutes. Consumption of Bulgarian yogurt is the best way to maintain the balance of the intestinal microflora.

The strains in the probiotics yogurt starter have antimicrobial activity needed for the maintaining the healthy balance of the digestive tract; they are working for eliminating “bad” cholesterol, detoxifying the organism and have anti-cancerogenic effect.

Preparation steps:

  1. Boil the raw milk
  2. Keep it hot for 30 min.
  3. Cool it down to 42 – 45°C
  4. Add the starter culture and stir well.
  5. Wait for 8 – 10 hours without stirring at 42 – 45°C.
  6. Put it in the refrigerator until cooled down to 10°C without stirring

The quality of the finished product depends on the quality of the milk which is used. If the result is not satisfactory, try another milk.


2 years in a refrigerator within the range of 0 and 10°C.

1 year in a dry, cool place away from sunlight at the temperatures up to 20°C.

Do not store back open foil-packets.

    I rarely leave comments but I am so SURPRISED of the taste of this yogurt. I made two batches. First was with 2% milk and the second with 3,6%. Looks like with the higher fat percentige comes the better dencity. Just put jars in the oven for 6 to 8 hours at 40 degrees celsius. Delivery was without issues to London. Thanks

    I have been trying to find a suitable yogurt starters! Many of them claim to have lactobacillus bulgaricus or some other “good” bacteria but non of them had a such a good effect on my stomach. Thank you for the fast delivery and the great product! This would be my 3th order! UK here

    I love this yogurt starter! Our yogurt turned out so good just like in Bulgaria. I did it from my first try. Quick tip to find the right temperature – the raw milk should be a little bit hotter then your body temperature
